Sept. 29, 2005 - The North East Texas Regional Water Planning Group elected two new officers and an at-large member to the executive board during their Sept. 21 meeting in Mount Pleasant.

With the vacancy created by John Bradley, who served as the vice chair of the NETRWPG’s executive board, Richard Letourneau of Harrison County was elected to the position. Letourneau had been serving as the NETRWPG secretary/treasurer.

Beth Wisenbaker of Hopkins County, already on the group’s executive board, was elected to move into Letourneau’s vacated position. Her move left an at-large position open, which was filled by Mendy Rabicoff of Gregg County.

NETRWPG also elected to amend its by-laws. The board amended their by-laws to include 24 voting positions. To fill the position, the board then nominated Troy Henry of Wood County. Henry, who works with the Sabine River Authority, will represent River Authorities.

Another amendment made by the board was to change TXU to a non-voting member. Last month, Barry Boswell, who works for TXU, changed positions on the board with Greg Carter, who was a non-voting member. The amendment changes TXU position on the board to a non-voting member.

In other news, the board took action to add supplemental study projects (Kilgore water re-use, municipal per-capita use, and water supply regionalization) to the region’s Initially Prepared Plan to be submitted to the Texas Water Development Board. These studies have been ongoing.

They also welcomed six new voting members, including Henry and Carter. They were Adam Bradley of Marion County, Jim Nickerson of Camp County, John Bryan of Morris County, and Don Hightower of Wood Countywho were elected to fill term-limited vacancies during the August NETRWPG meeting.

A tentative meeting is scheduled for Nov. 10, 1 p.m., at the Mount Pleasant Civic Center. Watch for any date changes in Country World’s Country Calendar.
