Sept. 9, 2004 - The North East Texas Regional Planning Group reappointed two board members and appointed five new board members at their August meeting in Gilmer. The reappointments were Richard LeTourneau, representing Harrison County and Eldon Wold, representing Franklin County. New members are Gary Cheatwood, Max Bain, Keith Bonds, Scott Hammer, and Richard Zachary. These members replace the expiring voting board members' terms of Tony Williams, Steve Dean, William Rice, L.D. Williamson and Terry Winn. Dean Carrell was appointed to the vacancy created by Charles Ball's resignation. At the next meeting, Sept. 22, board members will select new officers. In related news, the Region C water group approved "the list for further evaluation of potentially feasible water management strategies" at their Aug. 30 meeting in Grand Prairie. Among the strategies for possible water sources in the Northeast Texas area are potential reservoirs Marvin Nichols, George Parkhouse 1, and Ralph Hall, according to a Region C board member. |
