Gov. Perry reappoints four to Texas Agricultural Finance Authority Board of Directors |

May 22, 2003 -- Four individuals were reappointed to the Texas Agricultural Finance Authority Board of Directors by Gov. Rick Perry on May 6. Their terms will expire Jan. 1, 2005. The seven-member board, who serve for two-year terms, assists agricultural and rural businesses as well as public institutions with projects that create or expand economic development in rural areas. Sue Kennedy of Nacogdoches is the Nacogdoches County judge. She is a member of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's Local Government Advisory Committee, North and East Texas Judges and Commissioners Association and Nacogdoches Economic Development Corporation. She is the past president of the Nacogdoches Downtown Business Association and past chair of the Nacogdoches Job Service Employer Committee. Dal DeWees of San Angelo is board chair of San Angelo National Bank. He previously served as chair and chief executive officer of Texas Commerce Bank. He also is the former president of the local United Way and Meals for the Elderly in San Angelo, and he was a member of the Lions Club board. DeWees received a bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University. Ruben Bosquez of McAllen is senior vice president for corporate lending at Frost National Bank and chair of the Rio Grande Valley Community Foundation. Bosquez has received the Small Business Advocate of the Year Award and the District Directors Award from the San Antonio District of the Small Business Administration. He received a bachelor's degree from Texas A&I University, now known as Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Albert Lowry of Laredo is a rancher and executive vice president of Laredo National Bank. He is a member of the Society of Range Management and the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. Lowry also serves on committees of the Farm Service Agency and the Webb County Texas Agricultural Extension Service and as an officer of the Brush Country Wildlife Management Association. He received a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University. These appointments are subject to Senate confirmation expected this month. |
