December 5, 202 -- Due to an unfortunate accident, a Nacogdoches cowboy has had to change his cowboy lifestyle. Now, Eddie Rosenberger is using his creative talents to create western cowboy art and furniture and write cowboy poetry. Rosenberger said he has no memory of what happen the day of the accident in August 2002. It is known that he rode out on a young filly around 1:30 p.m. and was later found around 5 p.m. by his wife. The heat index was 105 that day. The man, who had lived the life of "being a cowboy," suffered a head trauma which lead to brain surgery in October. Hopeful for a full recovery, Rosenberger stated he is feeling more stable day by day, and has increased gratitude for his friends, family, prayers, and modern medical advances. The fourth-generation Nacogdoches native grew up riding horses, bucking broncs, and bulls. He was also a state cattle inspector after graduating from Texas A&M in 1962. Later he became a cattleman, buying and selling cattle for 20 years all throughout Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. Thoroughbred racing and training was also a great joy in Rosenberger's life. Since his accident this summer, a fund has been set up to help with medical costs at Texas Bank in Nacogdoches. The address is Texas Bank, special account for W. Ed (Eddie) Rosenberger, #3024008, P.O. Box 631444, Nacogdoches, Texas 75963.
