1971 : Roger Saul-a one-time accessories buyer who has been tinkering with leather chokers (purchased by Biba) and belts-founds Mulberry in partnership with his mother in the village of Chilcompton, not far from Bath, England. His seed money is a 21st-birthday present of 锟�00. He names the company after a tree that grew at his childhood school. Sister Rosemary designs the trunk-and-leaves logo. Early clients will include Jean Muir, Kenzo, Ralph Lauren, Bloomingdale's, and Au Printemps.
